Auto Culture Comics is an illustrated comic-reading app from Auto Culture Society, featuring The Garage. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app, make purchases, share content or contact us.
1. WHO WE ARE

2. WHAT AUTO CULTURE COMICS DOES
The app lets you read comics, preview and purchase individual issues, save your reading position, add bookmarks and favourites, explore character biographies and choose a character app icon. You can also share selected covers and character artwork and open ACS websites, app listings and social channels.
The app supports iPhone and iPad, with layouts that adapt to the available screen space. Comic artwork is included in the app for offline reading once an issue is available to you.
3. DATA COLLECTION AND ACCOUNTS
Auto Culture Comics does not require an Auto Culture Society account and does not ask you to register a name, email address, username or password.
The app does not automatically upload your reading history, bookmarks, favourites or preferences to an Auto Culture Society server. It does not access your contacts or messages, and Auto Culture Society does not receive your full payment-card or banking details through the app.
If you contact support or participate in TestFlight testing, information may be provided to us as explained below.
4. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Reading positions, recently read issues, bookmarks, favourites, your selected character icon and reader preferences are stored locally on your device.
The app does not use an ACS cloud account or CloudKit to synchronise these records between devices. Local app data may be included in backups managed by Apple or your operating system, depending on your settings.
Purchase access is checked using Apple-verified StoreKit entitlements. Restoring purchases is separate from restoring local reading progress.
5. DEVICE PERMISSIONS
The current app does not request camera, microphone, location or contacts access, permission to read your photo library, or notification permission.
When you choose to share content, the app opens Apple’s system share sheet. Any permissions required by your chosen destination are managed by that service and your device.
6. SUPPORT CORRESPONDENCE
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments or device details you choose to include. We use this information to respond, investigate problems and provide support.
We process support correspondence for our legitimate interests in helping users and resolving problems, and where necessary to meet applicable legal obligations. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details or other unnecessary sensitive information.
7. ANALYTICS, ADVERTISING AND TRACKING
Auto Culture Comics does not include an ACS or third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDK. It does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
The comics contain static Auto Culture Society advert pages. Explore ACS also promotes Auto Culture Racing and Auto Culture ColourLab. These promotions are not personalised, and viewing them does not send personal information to an advertising network.
Apple may process App Store, purchase and diagnostic information under its own policies and your Apple settings, and may make reports available to developers. TestFlight testing is described in section 13.
8. IN-APP PURCHASES
Issue 01 is free. Issues 02 to 06 are available as separate, one-time, non-consumable in-app purchases. There is no subscription. Apple displays the applicable price before you confirm a purchase.
Apple processes purchases and restores. The app checks verified transaction and entitlement information to determine which issues you can read. Auto Culture Society does not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password through this process.
You can use Restore purchases in Settings or on a paid issue’s page when signed in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase.
9. SHARING AND EXTERNAL LINKS
Sharing happens only when you choose it. The app provides the selected comic cover, character poster or character description, together with an ACS link where applicable, to Apple’s system share sheet.
The app does not attach your reading history, bookmarks or purchase records to shared content. It does not export complete purchased comic books through its sharing features.
Opening an external website, App Store listing or social channel takes you to a separate service. Its own privacy policy and terms apply, including any cookies, analytics or account features it uses.
10. RETENTION, DELETION AND RESET
Local reading information remains on your device until you change it, clear it or remove the app. Clear reading history & favourites in Settings removes saved reading positions, bookmarks and favourites. It does not cancel purchases or reset every app preference.
Deleting the app normally removes its local app data. Copies in device backups or previously shared or saved to another destination may remain there. Apple purchase history and backups are managed through Apple and your device settings.
Support correspondence and beta feedback are retained only for as long as needed to resolve enquiries, investigate faults and meet applicable legal obligations. Contact us about information you have provided directly to us.
11. YOUNGER USERS
Auto Culture Comics does not require registration or ask readers to provide their name or email address. Parents and guardians should supervise optional purchases, external links and sharing where appropriate.
Apple’s parental controls, Screen Time and purchase-approval settings can help manage access. Children should seek a parent or guardian’s help before sending personal information to support.
12. SECURITY
Local app information relies in part on the security of your device, Apple Account and chosen backup services. Keep your software up to date and use appropriate passcode, biometric and account-security settings.
No storage or communication system can be guaranteed completely secure. Share only the information needed when contacting support or using external services.
13. APPLE SERVICES AND TESTFLIGHT
The app uses Apple StoreKit for purchases and restores, and Apple’s system share sheet for user-selected sharing. Apple handles these services under its own policies.
If you install a beta version through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects crash logs and usage information and shares it with the developer. Feedback you submit is also shared, and the information may include your name or email address depending on how you joined the test and provided feedback. We use beta information to investigate faults and improve the app. See Apple’s TestFlight privacy information.
TestFlight’s data handling is separate from analytics built into the app; Auto Culture Comics does not include its own analytics SDK.
14. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or request deletion of personal information we hold, restrict its use, object to processing or request a portable copy where that right applies. See the ICO’s guidance on data protection rights.
We do not hold a server-side ACS reading account for you. Requests about locally stored reading information are normally handled through the app and your device. We can respond to requests concerning support correspondence or beta information available to us.
Contact contact@autoculturesociety.com to raise a privacy question or exercise your rights. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data-protection authority.
15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app, our practices or applicable requirements. The updated policy will be made available through our website or app listing with a revised date.
